Nifty Fifty in the Bosque / by Mary Michael

The other day I was able to drag my brother out to accompany me on a quick photoshoot to test out a new lens I got. I finally was able to get my hands on a nifty-fifty! What mean by that is it is a 50mm lens and more specifically a Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L lens. I’ll get in more depth about this lens when I do a full review, but for now let’s say it is my new favorite challenge! It is a fixed lens so I really have to be intentional on how I shoot. I was focusing on landscape and because this lens is more suited for portraiture it felt like I was at a disadvantage from the start, but I think it was a good first round/try for this lens. I can’t wait to mess around with it some more and hopefully I’ll be able to give you a well rounded review soon!

For now, here are some full framed, not cropped, shots from this session:
